Scoliosis consists of several abnormal curve of the spine that pushes out laterally and creates visible or non-visible defect to the affected person. This is not a disease, nor is it contagious and this is not developed by certain actions or lack of care. This has been studied by experts and questions have always been raised if chiropractic scoliosis treatment is best for those who are suffering from this condition.

The cause of scoliosis is unknown, which is why it is considered an idiopathic disease. People should be aware that it is not a disease caused by carrying heavy backpacks or being too athletic.

Scoliosis can affect anyone regardless of age. However, it may be noticed mostly during the adolescent stage, when there is a surge of growth, and you can easily see the curvature of the spine.

Although it can alter the appearance of a person, often causing uneven or a protruding shoulder, or even a lump on the back, there are times when it is not easily observed due to “double curvature,” where the spine bends twice, which cancels each out.

Sometimes we are led to believe that there are no solutions or nothing can be done for it, but that is not true. There are some that are resistant but some are also responsive to the treatment depending on how severe the condition is.

There are also other methods introduced that can useful in treating scoliosis.

One is Pilates, an exercise regime that is a combination of thoughtful movement and breathing that is said to develop a more flexible and efficient body.

Alexander Technique is also said to help the patient use proper body posture for maximum efficiency.

The rest are hydrotherapy, application of heating pads or ice for temporary pain relief, and massage.

There are extreme but rare cases that require surgery and uses hooks or rods to align the spine. Before you even go for braces or surgery, you need to know that there is another solution that you can look into and that is chiropractic scoliosis treatment. This is known to be significantly more effective, if not more, than the other existing medical care for scoliosis as it focuses more on both manipulative and rehabilitative treatment like spinal manipulation.

Some people say that there is no reliable evidence to prove the effectiveness of this technique or if it can make any difference, but chiropractic scoliosis patients who are cured can give you some insights on how the treatment helped them relieve their pain, stabilize their condition and provided them result to a long term solution.

This may normally fix itself for most people, so there is no need to panic once you notice it. But one should also be careful and not leave it undiagnosed. Ignoring the symptoms may worsen your condition over time if left untreated so it is wise to seek medical help early on. Chiropractic scoliosis solution is known for its non-invasive procedure and can help you improve your range of motion in no time. This is something that you should consider if you want lesser pain and better mobility, so go to your nearest chiropractor to give you the permanent pain relief that you need.

Back pain treatments can vary depending on the nature of the condition, severity, duration, and type of practitioner seen. A mechanical problem requires a mechanical solution, not a chemical one (pills). It is very common for a person to present with low back pain and have a decreased low back curve from the side view. A person should have a 35 degree curve seated as shown on x-ray. Too much or too little curvature can cause pain because muscles are attatched to bones and when they are out of alignment, muscles pull to try and hold a person upright to gravity.

Back pain treatments often include adjustments to increase joint range of motion and lessen pain, therapeutic exercise (for muscle rehab), and vibrating mechanical traction (to relax and/or heal damaged ligaments). When a patient has a damaged ligament, they are more dependent on muscles to hold bones together.

Upper left side back pain can have a variety of causes. The most common is a loss of curve in the side view of the neck region. When the a person loses curvature of the spine from the side, muscles have to work harder to keep itself upright to gravity. The pulling of the muscles can make someone fatigued and suffer from pain in one or more areas of the body.

Upper left side back pain can be caused from a curve created in the front/back view of the head, neck, and upper back. The spine in this view should be straight. Curvature in this dimension causes an imbalance of musculature from side to side. Both sides should function equally in strength. When one side is weaker, the other side will pull causing pain or discomfort.

To address the cause of upper left side back pain, adjustments are usually given to decrease pain and increase the joint range of motion. Vibrating mechanical traction relaxes discs and ligaments. Very specific therapeutic exercises are given to rehabilitate deep spinal muscles which are often weak.

Back pain help is sought by nearly 80% of Americans. The back is such a large area and is subject to pain more than other ares because of it’s relationship in the brain. The fingers and lips are very small areas and are represented as such in the brain. If someone was to use 2 different points to touch your back with your eyes closed, it would be difficult for you to tell the difference between 1 or 2 points compared to your lips or fingers.

Neurological changes and back pain help can be possible by changing the structure of the spine. The spine is 3-dimensional and must be assessed as such. Back pain can be caused by any one structural loss or gain in any dimension. A person should have proper curves from the side view and the spine should be straight from the front and back views. When too much or too little curve exists in the spine from the side, the body will make curves in the front/back view to compensate. The muscles are pulled to help hold one’s self upright to gravity. To fix the cause, x-rays are often used to eliminate guesswork and help us fix the cause.

Treatment for sciatica is one of the most common problems chiropractors have encountered and there are a lot of patients who can attest to the success of chiropractic treatment.

To give you an idea, sciatica is a term used to describe a symptom. If you feel a shooting pain, tingling or numbness down your leg, it is usually caused by the pressure on your sciatic nerve or nerve roots in your low back. You should avoid repetitive lifting, prolonged sitting or standing if you don’t want to increase pain that will worsen your condition.

Before a chiropractor may even begin with his diagnosis, he will have to find out the cause behind the patient’s condition. He should review the medical history as this will help him determine if it has something to do with the patient’s past conditions and what were the treatments given to him. The goal of the chiropractor is to permanently fix the problem and see if the body has a potential to heal itself.

There are many types of therapies used by chiropractors depending on how severe the condition is. Patients have individual needs and require different treatments. The treatment for sciatica usually starts with rest and medication for pain and inflammation.

One of the basic known treatments and has proven to be useful is ice therapy to ease the nerve inflammation to prevent sciatica from happening. This treatment works quickly after the patient experiences severe pain.

There is also the ultrasound to reduce swelling, soreness and increase blood circulation since the pain cuts it off when it presses hard on the sciatic nerve. The high frequency sound waves produce heat that penetrates the body tissues.

The most popular and safe treatment for sciatica is the spinal manipulation. Spine is made up of connected bones called vertebrae. If you have poor posture and weak abdominal muscles, it can press on the nerves that result to slippage. Spinal manipulation helps loosen the spine’s movement and vertebral bodies that are misaligned and restore it back to its proper position. It helps decrease the muscle spasms, nerve irritability and inflammation without causing any pain. The adjustment in spine in guaranteed effective.

Any sciatic pain that is accompanied by loss of bowel or bladder function calls for an immediate medical assistance. And intense pain sometimes requires surgery but those are rare cases. There are still other ways to avoid surgery or taking pain killers like maintain a good resting position, rehabilitative exercise and stretching of the Piriformis muscle to help you relieve pain as it puts more pressure to your sciatic nerve.

Seek your health practitioner’s advice as they can give you an accurate diagnosis and provide you with options to help you treat your condition. Most patients prefer chiropractic because of its non-invasive or non-surgical and drug-free treatment for sciatica. If you need another alternative, you should try chiropractic care as they usually center on spinal adjustments and have continually proven to help you with a long term solution instead of putting up with other short term pain relief.

Sciatica back pain is often caused by a loss of curve in the spine from the side view. Patients often feel a deep pain in the back of their thigh. Why? Because that is where the sciatic nerve is located. It does not travel past the knee. The sciatic nerve originates from the lumbar spine and can be compromised with spinal misalignments. A person should have a 35 degree curve of the lumbar spine (side view) seated. This curvature holds a person upright to gravity with minimal effort. The muscles and ligaments are relaxed with an ideal curve. The further away from an ideal curve a person is, the more pulling, throbbing, and aching a person may feel.

Sciatica back pain can be corrected with adjustments, therapeutic exercise, and vibrating mechanical traction. Adjustments decrease pain and increase the joint range of motion. Therapeutic exercises are very specific and also depend on objective findings, especially x-rays. Ligaments relax at 4.5 hertz and are vibrated to also relax discs in the neck or low back region. To see if you can be helped, please call our office at 717-737-4450

Chiropractic patient education starts with an understanding of what chiropractors do. A chiropractor uses a person’s muscles, bones, and ligaments to create changes in their nervous system so that they function better.

Chiropractic patient education also involves an explanation of how structure dictates function. A good example would be rolling a square wheel (doesn’t work very well). Your spine should have proper curvatures from the side view and the front/back view of the spine should be straight. When the spine loses or gains curves in the side view, curvatures are created in the front/back view. The most common reason a person suffers with aches and pains is because when the spine loses it’s proper alignment, muscles pull to try and hold the body upright to gravity. When somene comes in and says they have stenosis, or a disc problem, or tight muscles, etc., they are effects, not causes. Think about how this may apply to a home- (It is important to focus on the foundation of a house and not simply put patches on it). A spinal unit consists of a vertebra, a disc, and another vertebra. When the spine loses proper alignment, the disc will slip out. A person may have a herniated disc and not even have any pain (others may have significant pain). Symptoms are the last indication of a problem and the first thing to go away. So, they are not good indicators of how healthy a person is. The wisest decision is to fix the cause instead of treating symptoms on and off forever.
